A new Production Company overflowing with Passion, Knowledge & Talent.
Founded by Alexander DiPietro and Zach Kindbom, Half Empty Entertainment just wrapped filming our first project, the pilot for RENT-A-FAM! Now in post-production, we are looking for a sound mixer and second investor while our very talented editor does his thing! Now a proven talent, Alexander is also seeking representation to further his writing, directing and acting careers.
Zach was Alexander’s second friend when he moved from Chadds Ford, PA to Medford, NJ in the summer before 5th grade. Zach himself, living in Medford his whole life until moving to South Caroline to attend USC, where he studied business. Zach currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina and is directly involved with the business side of our company, along with Alexander, who also handles the creative side.
Alexander has been studying film and writing scripts since age 13, after seeing Inglorious Bastards after his Bar Mitzvah. Alexander was always interested in writing and film, but after viewing Inglorious Bastards, he thought three things: holy fuck that was amazing in so many ways, that he wanted to make something that made others feel what he felt and with enough hard work, studies and unrelenting tenacity, he could.
Prior to RENT-A-FAM!, Alexander mostly wrote genre scripts like sci-fi and horror. But unfortunately, those come with a big budget. After attending the life-changing Series Fest in 2022 and seeing so much great independent pilots, Alexander was deeply inspired. He pushed himself to write his first ever comedy with the main goal to create something that could be made with a reasonable budget, but with the look and feel of a large, very involved production.
Struggling with mental illness throughout his life, Alexander wanted to write something very human, modern, unique and melancholy. Something only he could write. He ultimately chose the major theme of loneliness and after a few intense months of development and writing, RENT-A-FAM! was born!
After completing the script, Alexander pitched the concept to Zach, all under the ownership and goal of this production company, Half Empty Entertainment. For we have giant plans for future content, including a post-apocalyptic, alternative, Cold War anthology series, built from the ground up for both television and video games, that Alexander has been developing for the past 14 years. Among many other projects either finished or outlined.
We hope RENT-A-FAM! brings people insight on themselves and makes them feel less alone. We hope the success of RENT-A-FAM! leads to many, many other projects from Half Empty Entertainment, ones only we are capable of making. And above all, most important, we are able to make at least one person feel better about themselves. For that is what tv, film and video games have done for me and if I am to make at least one other person feel that way, I have done my job as an artist and our job as a business.
